Over 3 years, thanks to the “Ansagan Sabi” program, 7 thousand babies were born

More than 100 parents from different regions of the country gathered for the event. They had traveled to the capital to seek the help of specialists in fulfilling their dream of having a child — and ultimately achieved their goal. At the event, they met one another and shared their joy.

During the celebration, Saltanat Baikoshkarova, founder of Kazakhstan’s first in vitro fertilization laboratory, and Minister of Healthcare Akmaral Alnazarova addressed the guests and congratulated the children and their parents.

“We came here today to see just a part of the results of the ‘Ansagan Sabi’ program, which was launched in 2020. Over the past three years, since the program began, more than 7,000 children have been born in Kazakhstan through in vitro fertilization. Previously, the state budget funded 1,000 IVF quotas for people wishing to have children through this method, but following an instruction from the President, the number of quotas was increased sevenfold.

At that time, many prospective parents were waiting for their turn, and the waiting period could reach seven to eight years. Today, thanks to the annual allocation of 7,000 quotas, the waiting period has been reduced to 12 months. Even by international standards, this is a good result,” the Minister told the media.

She also noted that the effectiveness of the ‘Ansagan Sabi’ program is in line with leading international standards.

“Over three years, 21,000 quotas were allocated, and 7,000 of them resulted in the birth of healthy children. This is also an excellent result by international standards. Specialists from the Ecomed Center, reproductive medicine experts, scientists, and parents spoke about the high effectiveness of the ‘Ansagan Sabi’ program and presented a number of proposals. Most of them concerned the scope of services and reimbursement rates.

I believe that all of these issues can be resolved through consultation with specialists. People can also see that this program, initiated on the instruction of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has made treatment more accessible. We also have a sufficient number of specialists. We have become a leader in this field in Central Asia, and many patients come to us from abroad,” said Akmaral Alnazarova.

Following the festival, Minister Akmaral Alnazarova and Almaz Ibragimov, Medical Director of the Ecomed Group’s center in the capital, conducted the traditional Kazakh Tusau Kesu ceremony for two children born through the ‘Ansagan Sabi’ program.
