The simplest method for diagnosing an endometrial polyp is pelvic ultrasound, which can usually clearly determine the size and location of the polyp. More complex and expensive diagnostic methods, such as MRI, are generally used only in diagnostically challenging cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Diagnostic hysteroscopy may also be performed, allowing the physician to examine the uterine cavity and remove the polyp during the same procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Diagnostic hysteroscopy and hysteroscopic resection offer significant advantages over curettage because they provide direct visualization of the uterine cavity.
